It all started in the spring of 2015 when I was asked by my friend Tom Söderman about making a movie about an old school Swedish tatoo artist. I replied that I honestly had very little knowledge about the art of tattooing, despite of my great interest in visual art.

I began searching the internet intensively and found it amazingly cool. Incredible pictures and colorful people sharing it and wearing it. Thinking about it for less than a day and it was settled.

Through crowdfunding a lot of nice and enthusiastic people made it possible for us to get started. Thank you so much, all of you!

In the summer of 2015 we began to make the movie about Tattoo-Andy at his home in Halmstad on the west coast of Sweden. It was really great to meet Andy and to listen to his stories, not least of all the Copenhagen ones.

My wish is that the documentary about Tattoo-Andy is going to sparkle as bright as the colors in his palette, that it will be an entertaining portrait of a most interesting person, and a cultural achievement which will be appreciated by a great number of people, even for those who have not yet opened their minds to the art of tattooing.
